Why is My HVAC Blower Wheel Making Noise?

The presence of noise coming from a blower wheel usually signals wear or the need for maintenance. The debris and dust build-up is a frequent culprit, disrupting balance and resulting in abnormal sounds. It also might be due to the degradation of the blower's components, such as blades becoming loose or damaged. Moreover, the motor's bearings can fail, manifesting as a grinding or squealing noise.

Why Replace Broken Fan Blades?

To maintain the operational efficiency of HVAC systems, addressing broken fan blades is critical. This step is key not only for ensuring smooth airflow but also for protecting the system from further harm. Broken fan blades can cause an imbalance, which strains the motor and could lead to the early breakdown of additional parts due to excess vibration and stress. Moreover, this imbalance severely limits the system's function in effectively circulating air, thereby compromising heating, cooling, and ventilation efficiency.
