To evaluate an actuator, attach a multimeter to one of the leads and take note of the amperage as the rod extends and retracts. This method is the most accurate for a reading of the actuator’s current consumption.
This process will differ depending on the brand and actuator type. For blend door actuators, simply remove the actuator and turn the climate control to max heat. Then, turn the blend door shaft until you can feel the max heat coming out of the vents. Finally, reinstall the actuator and once everything is back in place, it should be reset.
