Hoshizaki Ice Machine Water Pump Installation Instructions
- Step 1. Open the water supply line shut-off valve.
- Step 2. Make sure the control switch is in the “OFF” position and plug the unit into the electrical outlet.
- Step 3. If required by local sanitation code, seal the perimeter where the machine touches the floor with approved caulk compound.
- Step 4. If you’re installing the optional drain pump HS-5061, read the directions in the next section. If not, continue to Step 5.
- Step 5. Move the control switch to the “ICE” position and let the icemaker run for 2 minutes. This will allow the water tank to fill.
- Step 6. Move the control switch to the “OFF” position.
- Step 7. Inside the ice storage bin, disconnect the suction tube by squeezing the tabs and pulling the tube clear. Allow the water tank to drain.
- Step 8. Reconnect the suction tube, making sure the tabs lock into place.
- Step 9. Clean the ice storage bin liner, door liner and door gasket with a neutral cleaner and rinse thoroughly.
- Step 10. Move the control switch to the “ICE” position to start the automatic ice making process.
- Step 11. During the first 5 minutes of the cycle, confirm the bin control operation by holding ice in contact with the bin control thermistor. The ice maker shuts down within 30 seconds. Remove the ice. After 30 seconds, the icemaker restarts the automatic ice making process.
Installing the Optional Drain Pump
- Step 1. Move the control switch to the "OFF" position, then unplug the icemaker from the electrical outlet.
- Step 2. Remove all ice from the ice storage bin.
- Step 3. Plug the icemaker back in.
- Step 4. Slowly pour 24 to 30 oz. of water over the ice storage bin drain hole in the ice storage bin.
- Step 5. If water pumps out properly and the drain pump then de-energizes, continue to step 6. If water doesn’t pump out properly or the drain pump does not de-energize, the unit must be serviced by a qualified service technician before proceeding.
- Step 6. Move the control switch to the "ICE" position.
- Step 7. Pour another 24 to 30 oz. of water into the icemaker's ice storage bin, then completely restrict the discharge hose while the drain pump is operating. Keep pouring water into the icemaker’s storage bin until the ice maker turns off. The drain pump will continue to operate. Be sure to check for leaks.
- Step 8. Remove the discharge hose restriction and allow the water to be pumped out normally. Power to the icemaker will be restored when the water in the drain pump returns to a normal level.
- Step 9. If the ice maker fails to turn off with the discharge hose restricted or the pump fails to pump out the water, the unit must be serviced by a qualified service technician.
