A serial number gives us information about the unit’s manufacturing date, location and more. Like most companies, Hoshizaki provides serial numbers on their high-quality units that make it easier to tell what replacement parts your unit may need. In order to make Hoshizaki serial number lookups easy, you can find the nomenclature on the back of each unit. Learn more about these numbers and how to read them below.

Reading a Hoshizaki Serial Number

As an example serial number, we’ll use C20103B. Below you can find a breakdown of how to read a Hoshizaki serial number:

  • C – The first letter represents the year your unit was produced. Each letter denotes the last number of the year so “C” corresponds to “3” meaning the year would be 2013.
    • Note: This is for models from 2010 and newer.
  • 2 – This is the auxiliary number. It represents the number of any significant part changes that the machine has received in that year.
  • 0103 – The continuous number tells you when your specific unit came off the assembly line. In this example, the number indicates that this was the 103rd machine produced.
  • B – The last letter in the Hoshizaki serial number indicates the month that the unit was produced. “B” corresponds with February. So this unit would have been manufactured in February of 2013.
