How to Use Johnson Controls Air Conditioner
Johnson Controls air conditioner units are widely used in commercial facilities to maintain consistent comfort and dependable HVAC performance. This guide outlines how to use your Johnson Controls AC so you can maintain the ideal climate no matter the weather. We’ll cover common tasks like how to adjust temperature settings, changing the fan and control modes and setting up occupancy overrides when needed.
This guide is applicable for TEC3000 Series and FCP Series air conditioners and their thermostats.
How to Use TEC3000 Series AC & Thermostat
Changing the Temperature Setpoint
- Step 1—Press the Menu icon.
- Step 2—Select “Setpoints.”
- Step 3—Select the setpoint you want to change, like “Occupied Cooling” or “Occupied Heating.”
- Step 4—Adjust the temperature to the desired setting.
- NOTE—The thermostat requires a minimum deadband of 2°F between the heating and cooling setpoints. If you set them too close, the thermostat will automatically adjust the other one.
- Step 5—Press the “Save” button to save the new temperature setpoints.
- Step 6—Press the Back arrow to return to the previous screen.
Changing the System Mode from Heat, Cool or Auto
- Step 1—Press the Menu icon.
- Step 2—Select “Control Setup.”
- Step 3—Press “General.”
- Step 4—Go to “Control Mode” and select this option.
- Step 5—Choose whichever mode you need: Heat, Cool or Auto.
- Step 6—Press the “Save” button to save the new system mode, then the Back arrow to return to the main menu.
Changing the Fan Mode from On, Auto or Smart
- Step 1—Press the Menu icon.
- Step 2—Select “Control Setup.”
- Step 3—Press “General.”
- Step 4—Go to “Fan Mode” and select this option.
- Step 5—Choose whichever mode you need: On, Auto or Smart.
- Step 6—Press the “Save” button to save the new fan mode, then the Back arrow to return to the main menu.
How to Override the Occupancy Mode
If the TEC3000 is running on a schedule but you need it to run now, follow the steps below to override the Occupancy Mode.
- Step 1—Press the Menu icon.
- Step 2—Select “Schedule.”
- Step 3—Press “Schedule Options.”
- Step 4—Go to “Manual Occupancy Mode.”
- Step 5—Choose whichever mode you need: Occupied, Unoccupied or No Override.
- NOTE—The “No Override” setting returns to the normal schedule.
- Step 6—Press the “Save” button to save the override, then the Back arrow to return to the main menu.
How to Use FCP Fan Coil & PTAC Thermostat
Changing the Temperature Setpoint
- Step 1—Check that the thermostat is either in Heat Mode or Schedule Mode.
- Step 2—Press the Up or Down arrow to adjust the temperature setpoint.
