Supplies

Maintain your unit daily to prevent buildup that can dull the blades and reduce performance. Also, remember to wear protective gloves when handling sharp components to minimize the risk of injury.

Instructions

Prepping for Cleaning

  • Step 1. Set up a 3-compartment sink - Prepare a 3-compartment sink by filling the first basin with cleaning solution, the second with rinse water and the third with sanitizing solution.
  • Step 2. Remove the blade/pusher cartridge - Take out the blade/pusher cartridge from the chassis. See the manual for directions if needed.
  • Step 3. Disassemble the blade/pusher cartridge - Take apart the blade and pusher components.

Maintaining the Blade and Pusher

  • Step 1. Wash the blade and pusher - Clean the disassembled parts in the first basin of the 3-compartment sink, using the cleaning brush to scrape off any residue buildup. Don’t disassemble the blades as this should only be done by authorized factory personnel.
  • Step 2. Sanitize the blade and pusher - Rinse and then sanitize the blade and pusher components in the second and third basins of the 3-compartment sink.
  • Step 3. Air dry the blade and pusher - Let the disassembled parts air dry thoroughly.

Cleaning the Chassis

  • Step 1. Maintain the chassis - Maintain the unit body by wiping the exterior surfaces with cleaning solution and a soft cloth.
  • Step 2. Rinse the body - Use a damp cloth to remove any remaining cleaning solution from the unit’s exterior surfaces.
  • Step 3. Sanitize the chassis - Apply sanitizing solution to the exterior surfaces with a clean cloth.
  • Step 4. Air dry the machine - Let the sanitizing solution air dry on the chassis.

Resuming Normal Operation

  • Step 1. Reassemble the blade/pusher cartridge - Put the blade/pusher components back together.
  • Step 2. Reinstall the blade/pusher cartridge in the unit - Return the blade/pusher cartridge to the chassis.
  • Step 3. Resume normal operation - Use the slicer normally. See our guide on how to use a Prince Castle tomato slicer for step-by-step instructions.
