Antunes makes a wide variety of equipment that can cook quickly. The Miracle Steamer transforms simple tap water into super-heated dry steam that heats foods instantly. To help these commercial steamers run at their very best, daily and monthly maintenance is required.
Below are instructions for how to the clean and maintain an Antunes Miracle Steamer.
Daily Maintenance
The following maintenance procedures should be done on a daily basis.
Step 1. Turn the power off – Unplug the power cord from the machine. Let it cool down before you start cleaning.
Step 2.Remove components – Remove the spatula, spatula liner (with rollers on select models), top cover, steam vent and drip pan from the unit.
Step 3.Wash components – Clean the items you removed in step 2. Wash them in a sink with warm water and dish soap. Rinse thoroughly and allow them to air dry.
Step 4.Wipe down the food compartment and exterior – Use a clean damp cloth to wipe down both the food compartment and exterior of the steamer. Dry both areas using a separate clean cloth.
Step 5.Reinstall components – Start by reinstalling the steam vent. Then, install the remaining components to the machine.
Step 1.Check the water regulator – See if the water pressure regulator gauge is between 20-25 psi. If it isn’t, check the installation section of the owner’s manual to adjust pressure.
Step 2.Check fittings and clamps – Throughout the day, check if the disconnect fitting and hose clamp for leaks. If there are leaks, make sure to tighten the clamps or replace parts (if necessary).
Monthly Maintenance
Below are procedures you should do at least once a month. If water conditions in your area are harsher, consider doing these tasks more frequently.
Cleaning Steam Generator
Step 1. Turn the power off – Unplug the power cord from the machine. Let it cool down before you access the steam generator.
Step 2.Perform daily cleaning – Follow the daily cleaning instructions omitting the reinstallation of components in step 5.
Step 3.Remove parts by generator – Locate the steam generator and remove the wing nut, generator cover and diffuser.
Step 4.Clean disassembled parts – Wash the wing nut, generator cover and diffuser in a sink with warm water and mild dish soap. Wipe dry with a clean cloth.
Step 5.Clean the generator's surface – Make sure the unit is cool. Use a wire brush to clean the generator's surface. If there are large buildups of calcium, use scraper instead.
Step 6. Clean the generator's steam ports – Use the same wire brush in the previous step to clean all 28 steam ports. Once the calcium deposits are removed, wipe the generator down with a clean, damp cloth.
Step 7. Clean the surface with delimer solution (if necessary) – If the calcium buildup is too excessive, apply delimer solution onto the generator’s surface. Follow the instructions on the solution label for proper usage. Use a dry towel or sponge to remove the solution before rinsing with water.
Step 8. Purge the delimer (if necessary) – Plug in the machine and let it run for about 30 minutes. Then, push the "Operate" button or "Stop/Start" several times to help purge remaining delimer residue from the generator's surface.
Step 9. Reinstall the disassembled parts – Turn the steamer off and unplug the power cord. Reinstall the diffuser, generator cover and wing nut before turning the machine back on.
Cleaning & Refilling the Water Tank
Step 1. Check the water level – The water in the tank should be low or nearly empty when you begin.
Step 2. Turn the power off – Unplug the power cord from the machine. Let it cool down before you start.
Step 3.Remove the filter – Open the tank door. The water filter is located inside the tank. Remove it by pulling upwards and out of the bottom hole.
Step 4.Clean or replace the filter – Wash the filter in a sink with warm water. If you notice rips or damage to the filter, replace it with a new one.
Step 5.Reinstall the filter – Put the clean or new filter into the tank.
Step 6.Fill the tank – Fill the water tank so that it's 90 percent full. Do not overfill the tank.
