Residential Gas Furnace Troubleshooting
Whether it's not working or it's constantly running, there are a few things that could be causing your HVAC equipment to not run properly. Not Working or Heating
- Unit is turned off - Turn on the furnace.
- Circuit breaker is off or tripped - Turn on or reset the circuit breaker.
- Thermostat is set to COOL - Adjust thermostat to HEAT.
- Thermostat temperature is set too low - Increase the temperature.
- Filter is dirty or damaged - Clean or replace the filter.
Not Turning Off
- Thermostat temperature is set too high - Decrease the temperature setting.
- Faulty limit switch or thermostat - Contact an authorized service technician.
- Window or door is left open and causing a draft - Fully close the door and/or window.
